The story of the Alaska Marine Highway System starts with three men who had a dream to provide dependable marine transportation between Alaska’s coastal communities. That dream expanded to become the only marine route recognized as a National Scenic Byway and All-American Road. The system currently extends across 3,500 miles of scenic coastline and provides service to over30 communities, each with their own unique intrinsic qualities.
Alaska Fjordlines, Inc has been serving the independent traveler for 30 years, sailing the waters of Lynn Canal between the ports of Haines, Skagway and Juneau. We offer a fast ferry service, and deliver you there faster, but we have built in time to our schedule to stop along the route for whales, waterfalls, lighthouses, sea lions, seals and eagles. We offer bus service in Juneau to the airport and downtown.
