Itineraries
Day 1 | Anchorage Car Rental (not included)
Upon arriving in Anchorage free transfer to your hotel. Overnight at SpringHill Suites or similar.
Day 2 | Seward
Heading south towards Seward on the Seward highway. Several stops along the route will let you enjoy this 2 1⁄2 hour trip. Overnight at Windsong Lodge or similar.
Day 3 | Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise
Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise with Buffet, from 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Departing from Seward, this cruise glides pass seals, whales and puffins as we explore coastal rainforests, tidewater glaciers and remote Alaskan islands. Experienced and engaging captains narrate the trip, so you walk away knowing a whole lot more about Kenai Fjords National Park and its wonders. At your return a short trip to Sealife Center will help you remember all the animals you have seen during the cruise and learn more about the local sea fauna. Overnight at Windsong Lodge or similar.
Day 4 | Talkeetna
Today you will drive back to Anchorage continuing onto the George Parks highway to reach the vibrant community of Talkeetna. Overnight at the Talkeetna cabins or similar.
Day 5 | Denali
Today a Jet Boat Tour, included in your price, will take you along the Susitna river. As you travel twenty miles of river your hignaturalist will talk about the history and rivers in the area, as well as information about Denali. You will have opportunities to view nesting bald eagles and beaver activity. Time to go back to the Parks highway to continue your journey to Denali National Park. Overnight at Denali Grizzly Bear or similar.
Day 6 | Denali Park Tundra Wilderness Bus Tour
Today you will drive into Denali National Park on a bus. Traveling 43 miles into Denali National Park to East Fork Cabin, the Tundra Wilderness Tour (TWT) offers a wonderful and diverse experience for park visitors. Incredible scenery, a narrated history of Park Road, and some of the best opportunities to view the park’s wildlife inhabitants await you on this tour. The tour will take approx. 6 hours to be completed. Overnight at Denali Grizzly Bear or similar.
Day 7 | Copper Center
Depending on your rented vehicle you will be able to reach Paxson via the Denali highway (gravel road) or the Parks highway and the Glenn Highway. For sure both path will show you beautiful views of the Alaska range. Overnight at Copper Princess Wilderness Lodge.
Day 8 | Valdez
A very early start will take you on the Richardson highway towards Valdez where at 10:30AM you will board the Columbia Clacier Cruise. This 6-hour journey through Prince William Sound will feature a visit to the Columbia Clacier area where you have a chance to view history in the making as Columbia Glacier retreats back into the Chugach Mountains. Overnight at BW Harbor Inn or similar.
Day 9 | Anchorage
Today we will drive back to Glennallen along the Richardson highway turning east to take the Glenn highway towards Anchorage. Along the way we suggest a stop at the Matanuska Glacier. Overnight at SpringHill Suites or similar.
Day 10 | Anchorage
Tour concludes in Anchorage.
