Description

This three-day, two-night tour is a guided, round-trip journey by land and air featuring the majesty of Alaska’s vast arctic wilderness.

Day One: Visit the Arctic Circle Trading Post situated in the rural community of Joy, Alaska. Travel the rugged Dalton Highway made famous during the construction of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. Experience the mighty Yukon River. Marvel at the majestic beauty of the northland’s most famous waterway and learn of the river’s storied past. Cross over the Arctic Circle and receive an official Arctic Circle Adventure Certificate. Overnight at rustic Coldfoot.

Day Two: Visit the wilderness community of Wiseman. Pass through the majestic Brooks Mountain Range and cross over the Continental Divide at Atigun Pass. Explore up close the spongy yet delicate tundra of the Arctic Coastal Plain and feel the veins of ice just beneath the surface. Overnight at Prudhoe Bay, site of North America’s largest oil discovery.

Day Three: Tour Prudhoe Bay’s vast oil fields and feel the frigid waters of the Arctic Ocean. Return to Fairbanks by air.

Northbound (drive north, fly south) tours depart for Prudhoe on Sundays and Wednesdays.

Southbound (drive south, fly north) tours depart for Prudhoe on Tuesdays and Fridays.

What To Wear

Due to unpredictable Alaskan weather, we advise dressing in layers, which will allow you to stay warm and dry as the outdoor environment changes. For this event, please bring comfortable walking or hiking shoes and warm clothing that can shield you from wind or rain.

Please note that the operator asks you to please limit the amount of luggage you bring along on this portion of your trip. We suggest you store large suitcases at your Fairbanks hotel.
